LAUNCH SERVICEWe operate two diesel-powered launches, the William Waldron and the Dana Bowker. Each launch is Coast Guard-inspected, and all operators have the required Coast Guard licenses. The Waldron has a capacity of 22 passengers, while the Bowker may carry 19. (These limits are strictly enforced, since the Coast Guard will penalize the Club and the operator for exceeding the limit.)LAUNCH SCHEDULENote that during times of slow demand there may be just one launch operator on duty. When demand is expected to be heavy, we have at least two and sometimes three operators on duty. (The third operator provides needed relief for the other two, and the one not driving at a given time is usually available to assist vessels arriving or leaving the floats.)
Service ends October 15 Note 1: Times are subject to change in bad weather. Note 2: Launch Operators have full authority to suspend operations when weather conditions make operations hazardous. They also have authority to refuse service to anyone not authorized to use the launch or who are under the influence of alcohol to the point of being a danger to themselves or others.
