While technology is always subject to the quirks of the universe, continuing great work by our Dock Cam volunteer keeps it up and running a high percentage of the time. However, even he cannot not prevent the havoc raised by severe weather, particularly thunderstorms. The camera itself is fine; the problem generally lies in getting the picture out to the internet.
For much of the winter, the cold and ice of this winter savaged the camera motion mechanism. Unfortunately, it is in a location we cannot reach until snow and ice melt away. However, as spring slowly takes hold, the camera mechanism seems to be doing better.
The time stamp is Eastern Daylight Time. We are not able to change it easily for the seasons.
