Join PYC in celebrating Independence Day with a fun race around the bay. This is a jib and main only race, no spinnakers allowed.
Labor Day 1962 saw the inaugural Schooner Trophy Race sending 24 crews 11 miles around a dozen marks in Casco Bay, a plaque with the winners name was placed below the original Schooner Model donated by Dana Bowker, since replaced by the schooner America. The race was contested until 2002 when it took a hiatus until its’ resurrection in 2010.
Jib and main only, the course is inside Casco Bay on the south east side of Clapboard Island. See course sheet for more information.
