Pilot Race

The day will consist of competitive racing, a welcoming cruising class to new racers  and a fun post-race party. The post-race social is a Club event and Members, their guests and Wait-List applicants are welcome to attend.

  • 1000-1100 Registration
  • 1130 Skipper’s Meeting
  • 1300 First Warning Gun
  • No warning signal will be made after 1800.
  • Post-race festivities immediately following racing. The band starts at 1800 (6pm)

Families guests of race participants and PYC Members are welcome to join the post-race fun.   The BBQ costs $15 per persona and tickets must be purchased by Thursday AT 9AM before the cut-off. (DiningRoom minimums do not apply to Club events.)

One parking pass per non-member race boat is provided with registration. Satellite-parking is available on Route One at Walmart of the north end of the Shaw’s Plaza parking lot.

The band will be SEAGRASS, a five-piece band out of Southern Maine specializing in high energy traditional and popular Americana and featuring unique arrangements and tight harmonies.

SHIPYARD BREWING COMPANY is generously donating the beer for this event. Thanks you SHIPYARD!

Frenchman’s BBQ Catering will be cooking up delicious barbeque for the post race social.

Skippers receive a few dinner tickets with their registration and can sign up for additional dinner tickets when they register at Regattaman.com. Families and guests of race participants can also purchase tickets for $15 directly with the Carol in Bookkeeping no later than Thursday morning at 9am. 207-781-9820  ext.13 or with Club Manager, Pam Thomas at ext. 10.

Pulled Pork
Smoked Chicken
Potato Salad
Corn bread



Volunteers wanted for the PILOT RACE on Saturday, June 15th on the water or on the shore– big or small, a few hours or all day, volunteer options are available. Great way to connect with fellow members, even if you don’t race. The post-race party is loads of fun and Race Officer Doug Coyle and Event Organizer, Meg Fenderson encourage members who have not previously been involved with this Committee to come on out! Click here for the volunteer job list and times.
