Visitors, Welcome Aboard!

Portland Yacht Club and its members are pleased to host visiting yachtsmen and -women, whether they arrive by sea or land.  We offer reciprocity to members of other Yacht Clubs to the extent their Clubs offer reciprocity to our members.

We enjoy having yacht clubs include PYC as a stop on their summer cruises.  Please contact the Club Manager well in advance to make arrangements – or 207-781-9820, Ext. 11.

We have prepared a brochure to help visitors understand and use our facilities.  You will find printed copies in the Clubhouse near the door from the parking lot and in the Dockhouse.  You may also view and download it from this link:

Arriving by Land?

Driving directions and a map may be found under a sub-menu.

Parking is limited at PYC (see the section on Parking under the About PYC menu for details).  When you arrive, please check in with the Manager’s Office to request a guest pass.  If the office is closed, ask any staff person to direct you to the Department Manager on duty.  Note that under “peak hour” conditions it may not be possible to provide guest parking.

Arriving by Sea?

If you plan to stay overnight or longer, we suggest you call the Club a few days ahead to reserve a mooring.  The Club has 10 moorings of various sizes available for use by visiting yachts.  In addition, members occasionally make their own moorings available while they are away.

When you arrive in the area of our anchorage, contact our launch on Channel 68.  Please do not pick up a mooring without receiving permission from the senior person on duty on the Waterfront.

Club Rules

We ask visitors to abide the same rules that our members observe, such as “no smoking anywhere on Club property” and “dogs must be leashed at all times.”  Here is a link to a summary of our rules:
