Sailing

People from all over the world come to Maine to enjoy some of the best cruising anywhere.  Whether it’s the “calendar islands” of Casco Bay, the passage into Boothbay Harbor, the glories of Penobscot Bay, or any of the many other bays, coves, inlets, islands and harbors along the rock-bound coast, Maine has it all.  And as cruisers, we try to visit as much of it as we can!

An active Cruise Committee, led this year by Carol Dean, plans and organizes cruises throughout the commissioned season.  Some are for those who want to spend an entire vacation on the water; others are for individuals and families who would like to stay overnight in the company of member-friends.  Whether you venture out under sail or power, big boat or small, we have an opportunity for you.

•  June 11/12:  Family “shakedown” cruise to Potts Harbor, with dinner Saturday Night at the Dolphin Restaurant

•  July 11/26:  Two Week Cruise downeast, tied in with the Monhegan Race that ends in Camden.

July 25/26: Family Cruise to Sebasco Harbor, meet up with the 2-week cruisers, and dinner Saturday night

•  August 22/23:  Commodore’s Rendezvous at Snow Island

We are fortunate to be able to share many of our cruising adventures in photographs (and even videos one day soon!), thanks to the good work of Cruise volunteers.
