2011 Monhegan Results, Awards and Publicity 2011 Perpetual Trophies Several perpetual trophies have been established at PYC over time, to recognize several different results. Coleman Memorial Trophy (Monhegan B winner): Kaos, Scott Smithwick ☼ George E. Ford Navigators Trophy – Kaos, Andrew Gibbons and Dave Mason ☼ Walter S. Hammons (Monhegan A Winner): Big Dog Party, Peter Price ☼ Maine Coast Fisherman’s Trophy (First to Finish): Big Dog Party, Peter Price ☼ Edward B. Mason Trophy (First Maine Resident to finish): Big Dog Party, Peter Price ☼ Sabre Yachts Trophy (best performance by a Sabre Yacht): Milady, Kris Jennings The Spirit of Monhegan Award This award is presented to a volunteer who contributed time and energy in special ways that contributed to the success of the regatta. Race Officer Tim Tolford presented the award to Skip Yale. Among other tasks, Skip ferried relief crews out and back from the vessel stationed at the finish line at the outer mouth of Hussey Sound.
