June 2008
Hey everyone...summer is here, hope your vessels are in the water and you are enjoying your club. Cindy and I ate in the Dining room and the food is great so be sure to make reservations. Launch service hours has been extended to 0800 to 2000 every night, the first session of the Junior Program has begun, racing is underway Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday nights with a barbecue every Thursday night after the race, a men's luncheon spearheaded by Roger Hewson is being held each Wednesday, there are PYC sponsored PHRF racing weekends, cruising events including a "kid friendly" cruise, and other activities.
The Commodore's cocktail party is this Friday , June 27th at 1830. The event provides an opportunity to get together and share in the camaraderie that exists in our club. We will also be dedicating the new Dock House in honor of past commodore Bud Singer at this event. We have been quietly raising funds in Bud's name for the dock house, and have over $7,000 from nearly 30 donors with gifts ranging from $100 to $1,000. If you would like to join the list of contributors send a check noting the Singer Dock house to Bill Richards, Club Manager.
Also, don't forget the 4th of July picnic! We'll have updates later this month regarding activities for adults and kids. One of the fun activities is a a real old fashion picnic in honor of this Great Country.
Cindy and I hope to see you around the waterfront. If you have any questions or concerns, please contact me on my cell (207-450-5658) or email.
